What makes me read

I fell in love with reading at a very young age. I was lucky. I believe everyone is a reader, and most just haven’t found their perfect book.

I don’t remember the first book I read on my own, or which book exactly made me realize how beautiful the written word is. Like many others my age, the Harry Potter series was one of the first books I do remember falling in love with. It helped me realize how easy it was to read a novel and get lost in it’s pages. My dream is to help everyone feel that way about one book or another.

A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.” This George R.R. Martin quote may be overused, but it is only because it is so true! I’ve lived so many lives through the books I’ve read, haven’t you?

I decided to start this blog for many reasons.

I’d always wanted to write a blog. I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of having my personal thoughts shown to the world in great detail. I just never knew what I could write about. I didn’t want to have a personal diary online, and I don’t have a great passion for many things that would inspire me to write. Except books. When I finish a book, especially a really great book, I feel so enlightened with the words, I almost feel drunk. I always have the urge to write something that others could find beautiful and interesting and eye opening. Something that would make someone feel. So I thought, maybe I could write about that feeling I get? And here I am.

Here you may find: reviews, thoughts on books and authors, news on new books I’ve purchased, and posts asking for recommendations.

If you would like to share some of your favorites with me, or gift your favorite book to me you may do so by sending them to my Kindle at arriagaadrian@ymail.com
